The why

We live in a world prone to mistrust.
A world where the natural inclination is to distrust, unless irrefutably proven otherwise.

Innocent until proven guilty has become guilty until proven innocent when it comes to Big Tech. After a string of scandals, privacy breaches and accusations of election fraud, pillars of trust revealed themselves to be pillars of sand. Skepticism is now the new king.

  • Do we trust the way our data is being used?

No, 84% of consumers say they want more control over how their data is being used.

  • Do we believe what we read in the media?

No, only 53% trust traditional media.

  • Do we trust what we read on social media?

No, only 35% trust social media.

Perhaps the internet that was supposed to “set us free” is an internet we have left behind. Is it time that we reversed this cycle of distrust? Yes. It’s time for a citizen-led data industry.

Yes we trust

Trust is fragile, it must be fostered carefully and sustained patiently. Trust takes time and diligent effort to build, and it can be destroyed swiftly. As Warren Buffet famously said:

It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.

Warren Buffet

In the internet age, trust is the single most important driver of success in business. Customer experience is a crucial differentiator, and a major factor in customer experience is trust. Building growth underpinned by trust involves complexity, it involves transparency. But, ultimately, investing in trust is the best investment a company can make.

Let’s build that trust. Let’s earn that trust. Let’s thrive in a privacy-conscious world.

We have created Yes We Trust to help people understand and inspire trust.

Innocent until proven guilty has become guilty until proven innocent when it comes to Big Tech. After a string of scandals, privacy breaches and accusations of election fraud, pillars of trust revealed themselves to be pillars of sand. Skepticism is now the new king.

We hope that the first Yes We Trust Summit inspired you to do so.

We have invited prestigious speakers to share their vision of trust in business, and we allowed you to join one of 4 tracks (Yes We Trust in Marketing, Yes We Trust in Compliance, Yes We Trust in Technology, Yes We Trust in Data) to connect with counterparts in these respective fields.
